A journey.

I am going to sail around the world.
I really, honestly am. I'm now looking for a Contessa 26 or an Albin Vega 27, one of a pair of sail boats much lauded as the perfect boat for someone single-handing across an ocean, while still being big enough for two companionable people. I'd like to get one this spring, and spend the summer and following winter refitting it for my needs, then leave in the spring of 2010.
I'd like to follow this route, heading Westward. I'm working on a bookmark list of caches I'd like to find around the globe, in the few places that I already know for certain that I'm going to be visiting. If possible, I'd like to stop over somewhere in the Pacific or Indian Ocean, for as long as a year, and teach English while waiting out the stormy seasons.
All in all, the voyage should take two to three years, and I can't imagine how much I'll evolve as a person in that time, with all that distance and the cultures it will bring me in contact with. It will be glorious.
